One of the best things about the city is the rooftops in Playa del Carmen. These trendy places with international flavor with sea breezes can make a memorable afternoon of relaxation in the sun. While most people are at the beach during the day, rooftop pools can be a great option.
1-Deck5
Deck5 is the only public rooftop on the seaside in Playa del Carmen. With its Resto-Bar and a unique atmosphere, this place will charm you from your first visit. On the roof of the new luxury Carmen Hotel with the look of an illuminated cruise ship on the seaside. On weekends, there are special events or parties on the roof like pool party with dj or ladies night.
Private events with open bar can be booked.
Deck 5 is located at the end of calle 8 and the beach.
2-Thompson
The roof of the Thompson is where this hotel really excels. It has a view of the whole of Playa del Carmen. The roof is open to the public, there are two restaurants, one at each end and in the middle is a long heated swimming pool with jacuzzi. There are sun loungers, beds and private cabins. The cabins are modern with TV, armchairs and curtains for privacy.
The hotel is on the two upper floors of the Calle Corazon building in the center of Playa del Carmen. It is at the corner of 5th Avenue and calle 12. The entrance is on calle 12 between 5th and 10th Avenue.
3-Reef 28
Reef 28 is a new hotel with a very interesting public rooftop! There is a large heated swimming pool and two jacuzzis (1 cold and 1 hot), restaurant, bar, games area with pool table, table tennis, etc. Located at the corner of calle 28 and the 1st Avenida, this place has a great view.
4-The Palm
The Palm has a magnificent roof with a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant and service bar open to the public.
At night this place becomes sexy with the colored lighting that lights up. Even if the pool closes at 8 p.m. the bar remains open later. This is a great place to come for a drink before or after dinner. There are plenty of wicker seats with cushions and areas for private conversation. Usually you catch a gentle sea breeze.
The Palm is located on calle 8, between 5th Avenue and 10th Avenue.
5-The Five downtown
The Five is a new trendy hotel with a beautiful rooftop with swimming pool, bar and restaurant open to the public.
The Five downtown is located at the corner of 10th Avenue and Calle 2.
6-Be Playa
Be Playa is another beautiful public rooftop with swimming pool, bar and restaurant open to all. With a slightly more bohemian atmosphere, it becomes busier at the end of the afternoon and there is a DJ who plays some evenings. It is very popular at sunset.
Be Playa is located on calle 26 between 5th and 10th Avenue.
7-Live Aqua
It is a place where you will be amazed. This rooftop open to the public is chic with a beautiful view and remarkable elegance. You can also just come for a drink during the day or in the evening and enjoy the setting sun, it’s a nice place to come for a cocktail before dinner.
The Live Aqua hotel is located on 5th Avenue between calle 30 and 32.
8- It Ganesha
It is another beautiful hotel with public rooftop which has a terrace on several levels with several swimming pools. An interesting place to spend the day and evening!
It Ganesha is located on Avenida 1 at the corner of Calle 44.
