You have several options in Playa del Carmen .. All Inclusive, Hotels, Condo, Hostel, Airbnb, etc .. Personally I do not recommend an all inclusive when you come to Playa del Carmen because there are so many beautiful beaches, good restaurants for all budgets, lots of things to see and do so if you pay to have food and alcohol included, every time you go out of your hotel you pay again for food and drink, and believe me, soon you will know Playa you will not want to stay at your hotel! And there are hotels for all tastes and all budgets !! Here are my Top;
The Carmen Hotel
The Carmen Hotel is located on the beach in the heart of Playa del Carmen, 37 fabulous suites, beach club, Deck5 Sky Bar and swimming pool with two restaurants, featuring Playa in the best way, music, entertainment and food.

This magnificent adults-only hotel looks like an illuminated cruise ship by the sea. It is the only one with a public rooftop on the beach. On the roof there is a swimming pool and Resto-Bar. Their Keel restaurant overlooks the beach and a chef serves exceptional quality food. With its unique design and warm welcome, Carmen Hotel is a choice you will not regret.
The Carmen Hotel is located at the end of calle 8 and the beach.

The Grand Hyatt
Anyone who has been to Playa del Carmen recently has noticed the Grand Hyatt in the center. It is awesome on the beach and the architecture in a monolythic way could make you wonder what the interior looks like.
The entrance is the first thing you will see. A waterfall that represents a Mayan pyramid. Integrating the local flavor was something that the architectural group Sordo Madaleno wanted to do and you see it all over the hotel and you can also see it in the design and the materials used.
Once you enter the hotel, you are actually in the open-air lobby with a view directly to the ocean. This definitely puts you at ease to start your vacation off on the right foot.
There are several pools if you don’t want to go into the ocean.
This modern and centrally located hotel in Playa will make you feel like you are not in Playa but only a few steps away is 5th Avenue. It’s good that this place is not an all inclusive so you can take advantage of most of the great international restaurants in Playa del Carmen. This hotel is a little more for the modern family who likes to stay in a nice place. There are activities for all ages on site and this gives families more options.
The Grand Hyatt is on 1st Avenue between calle 24 and 26.
